Founded in 1962, the Texas A&M Maritime Academy is the only Gulf Coast U.S. maritime academy, training cadets in seamanship, navigation, and engineering through classroom instruction and summer sea terms. Graduates can earn U.S. Coast Guard licenses as deck or engineering officers and pursue careers in the Merchant Marine and marine transportation.
